Teachers make real decisions with the programs we list — which grant to spend a Saturday applying for, which supply program to trust with their classroom's needs. This page shows exactly who researches and writes those guides, what qualifies them to do it, and the rules we hold ourselves to before anything gets published.

Every program we name is checked to confirm it is genuinely free to the teacher and currently accepting applications before it appears in a guide.

Our editorial standards

Free means free to the teacher

A program only appears in a guide if a teacher can get the money, supplies, or tool without running a fundraising campaign, paying a membership fee, or fronting cash for a reimbursement.

Every program is opened and checked by hand

We visit the actual application page, read the eligibility rules, and confirm the program is currently accepting applications before we name it. No scraped lists, no affiliate directories.

Guides are re-verified at least twice a year

Award amounts, deadlines, eligibility, and application links change constantly. When something material changes we update the guide and move its 'Updated' date; when a program closes we remove it.

No pay-for-placement, ever

No company can buy a listing, a Verified Free Program badge, or a mention in a guide. Advertising on the site is served separately and never influences what we recommend.

Corrections are public and fast

If a teacher tells us a program is dead, gated, or misdescribed, we re-check it and fix the guide. You can reach the editorial team directly at hello@teacherresourcehaven.com.

Bylines on every guide

Every guide we publish carries a byline and an “About the author” section at the end of the article. Each link below jumps straight to that byline section so you can see who wrote the guide and when it was last verified.
